Indian TV Serials are the reason why there are fights across every household in the country. Pumped up by the action, drama, suspense and romance portrayed in the serials, the ladies in the house tend to attach to these serials as if the things happening in the serials are actually happening in their houses. They don’t tend to work without watching their daily dose of Indian serials every day but however few serials didn’t end with a proper ending.
Daily Soaps on Indian Television that Ended Inappropriately
The television serials are totally dependent on the TRP and the script. If the script is not well then none of the daily soaps can run for a long time. Here are the top 5 Indian TV serials that disappeared without an appropriate ending:
Star Plus, one of the most loved Indian TV channel has decided to end the recently started TV serial ‘Tamanna’ in just 6 months of its release. The main reason given for doing the same is dwindling response the viewers are giving to the serial. Initially launched with much fanfare and boasting of very high TRPs, ‘Tamanna’ lost the way and closed down on 26 June 2016. It became one of those Indian TV serials that disappeared without an appropriate ending from our screens.
Another of Star Plus’ was ‘Dehleez’. The show went off the air in just 4 months of its release due to low TRPs being generated. The show had started off with so much promise but couldn’t capitalise on the initial excitement around the show and thus failed to make a spot in the hearts of Indian TV serial watchers. The last episode of the show was also telecasted on 26 June 2016 on the TV screens.
Another of those Indian TV shows that had inappropriate ending was the very popular TV serials on Colors Channel, ‘Naagin’. The show had Arjun Bijlani and Mouni Roy in the lead roles. Although the producers of the show have said that there would be a second season of the super hit TV series, the fans of the show were left disappointed and confused at the ending of the first season of the show. Many believed that the show ended with an abrupt ending.
Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon
One of the most popular Indian TV serials was ‘Iss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Doon’. The serial had Varun Sobti and Sanaya Irani in the lead roles with the show ruling the charts for over a year in between 2011-12. But most people were left disappointed when the show became another of those Indian daily soaps that ended without an end when the heartthrob Varun Sobti decided to leave the soap. The show was later reprised with a new star cast in season 2 but didn’t get as much response as the first time leading to its demise as well.
Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon
‘Madhubala’ was one show that was ruling the TRP charts for more than 2 years when it was introduced on the Indian TV. With charming Vivian Dsena and the beautiful Drashti Dhami in the lead roles, the show was an instant hit among the people. But after 2 years of being at the top, the show lost its way with the TRP rating dwindling very low leading to the show being touted as the Indian daily soaps that had worst ending.
It is very important for any TV serial to make that connect with their audience. The lack of connection between the show and the viewer can lead to falling ratings. Many Indian TV serials that were stopped in between fell victim to the fact that they were just not able to connect well with the audience and could not generate enough interest with their story writing in the minds of the viewer.
